Please help find correct pcp bottle

What specifications for the bottle like what will be the maximum storage pressure of the bottle 3K or 4.5K?

  • Typically, paintball tank threads will be 5/8". These are typically Co2 or HPA 3K.
  • Typically, HPA tank threads are M18. There are typically HPA 4.5K

Now there are always exceptions to the rule. A vendor would need to contract a manufacturer to do a special run to thread a typical M18 threaded bottle in 5/8". The manufacturer normally treats these special order requests as a break in normal operation and will require a fairly large minimum unit count to make it worth their while.

There are always exceptions to the rule; take the custom-made 4.5K aluminum bottle on the Umarex Gauntlet 2. Its form is of the familiar paintball tank but its maximum storage pressure is 4.5K and it has a 5/8" thread for instance.

Once I know the Max OD, Max Storage Pressure, and Required capacity, I can offer more suggestions.

The US made Ninja bottles and regs have the 5/8x18 bottle to regulator threads. Most of the rest as noted above are 18x1.5

If you are after more shots, rather than more power, here is a nice drop block for the bottle conversion that will take any paintball type tank but says it must be regulated to 850psi.

If you are after more power rather than more shots Roy can make you a shortened Disco PCP air tube then with a Disco or Cothran valve and Disco fill cap you can run at 2k psi. A bit more if you, drill and tap the valve out to use some 10x32 Grade8 screws instead of the 8x32 of the stock Crosman valve.

Other valve and bulk kits. You will need 3 Grade8 screws in any valve you install to bulk your gun with Co2 or to PCP pressures!

Many ways to do this.

I'm gathering parts to convert my 2300kt into pcp. I found a regulator/valve with

5/8-18UNF threads. But the bottles I found online that I need all say M18x1.5 thread

What am I missing here? All the bottles with regulators/valve on ebay all say m18x1.5

You need to shop for a 13 ci/3000 psi hpa PAINTBALL bottle - try paintball dealers, google is your friend. The 5/8 thread is std. paintball, so include the word "paintball" in your searches, shouldn't have any problems finding a bottle set up for a 5/8 reg -

I've done a few of these conversions, one based on a 2250, the other a 1720T.

Started out with a 3000 psi aluminum bottle -

And now have a 4500 cf bottle on the 1720T & the 2250 as well - BEAUCOUP shot count my friend!

Frigging outstanding builds! And now we know who ate all the Squirrels in TN.

John

Thanks for the kind words breaux John -

The 1720 is shooting SO sweet, lots of shots at the sight in range and enough air left for TWO matches lol, and at 16X on the Bushy 3200, only one mil holdover at 10 & 55, took one shot over the chrony yesterday after a session down my hill, 885 w/AA 10.3 - good number, DON'T OBSESS I tell myself.

Hopefully, I have FINALLY learned when to stop tweaking, and when to start SHOOTING!

Scored a 44/66 at Roz's last match, still set up from the TN. State match. This is a perfect place for me to be FT wise, just want to have fun, see the fellas, and not embarrass myself lol!

Say hey to Tammy,
