can i remove the stock off the taipan veteran to tap it for this pic rail while it has air in the cylinder or does it need to be degassed first?

Remove two screws to separate the stock from the action.
One in the pistol grip and one in the fore stock.
No need to degass

I just installed one on a friends gun. No measuring, eyeballing, or fiddle fffnn’ around. I used geometric construction to find true centerline and it came out perfect.
