PCP's air resevoir

I had to get my large carbon fiber air tank hydro tested because it was past 5 years old.

Do the air reservoirs on PCP rifles need to be tested? I have an FX Royale with an aluminum resevoir.

From what I recall, if the air cylinder/tank on the airgun is not more than 2 inches in diameter, they don't need to be tested. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

That's a carbon fiber tank. Not a air tube like ones on a marauder. Not sure what op refer to as air reservoir. If he is talking about airtube then no, you dont need to get it test. But if he taking about fx bottles, then yes it has same requirements like the bigger CF tanks.

I was referring to the fixed aluminum 500cc bottle on the Royale, which is not removable like the carbon bottles on later Royales.

FYI: I contacted FX USA Service and they indicated they needed to be hydro tested every 5 years.

I took everything off the bottle and it's out being tested now.

So I took my aluminum bottle to the local paintball supply store and they sent it off to be hydro tested.

It came back marked that it was "Not Approved For Use in USA". My carbon tank from AirTanksForSale was tested and it was fine.

So I contacted FX USA and explained the situation. They replied basically that since I bought it from Airguns of Arizona and that they took over after I bought the rifle, that I should contact AOA about this. So I did. Twice. They've not replied or acknowledged my emails.

Has anyone else had an issue getting their aluminum bottle hydro tested in the US?
