It's hard to believe there's still V1 Vets left . If I didn't already have 2 .

Could be the flatter annodizing and there is oil on them to make them shine for the photos. It looks smeared or not fully coated on the edges of the brackets that hold the barrel and tube together. Not as shiney in the hard to reach places.

If you call Tony at Talon Tunes he will give you straight answers on the finish. He's great to dreal with when it comes to sales and customer service . Best in the Biz . I doubt there anything wrong with the finish just lube and camera exposure. He won't sell damaged goods.

Those original Veterans are the best "field" air rifles ever made. They will be sorely missed when they are gone. I am fortunate to have one each, in 177, 22, and 25.

I also bought a spare stock.

I can attest to the finish, fit and quality of the last of these Taipan Veteran 1 airguns. I just picked up a standard in .22 in the green laminate stock from Tony at Talon Tunes. Whatever was going on with the lighting that caused the graininess in the pics on his website is a non issue. The airgun I received is perfect and the knowledge and service from Tony is phenomenal. This is my first of many PCP guns to come and it took me well over a year to decide on a manufacture and model. I thought the rear cocking would be an issue but I’m glad I got one of the Veteran 1’s. It’s a heavy little beast, but should make it great on the bench. If your on the fence like I was, don’t be there are only a few left.
