Hello to all - I'm new to the club as I purchased a couple of Gamo rifles during the WalMart clearance sale a few weeks ago. I got these to get my kids started in the shooting sports and to use for inexpensive practice.I've started the research on proper technique (artillery hold / follow through) and ordered some higher quality pellets to get started.
I keep reading about wandering scope bases and bad scopes with these Gamo guns but many of the posts are a bit older. Have these issues been resolved on the new(er) models ? It appears the my rifles have two holes drilled to accept the inegrated scope/mount unit.
Also I have read to not use any sort of petroleum based cleaner ( some say to never clean) for cleaning the barrel. Most all agree to never use anything but a nylon brush or patch....and yet the Gamo cleaning kit I bought has a brass brush included.....? Also I've read to scrub the barrel in BOTH directions when cleaning which goes against what I've learned regarding cleaning barrels.
I'm sure I will have many more questions but if you could help me get started I would appreciate any and all input.
