New squirrel hunting and cooking video

Just got a chance to finish editing and uploading a new video. We went out squirrel hunting from my buddies deer blind to try and take out some squirrels. We got a few and turned them into squirrel sushi rolls. Not sure if its been done before or not but I got the idea from some pulled pork rolls I did some time last year. They turned out pretty darn good! And yes the squirrel is cooked! Hopefully you enjoy...

Great video and that black veteran looks awesome. A hint if you do a lot of squirrel hunting a sharp pair of side cuts come in real handy when cutting the ankles off. I keep a pair of craftsmen handi-cuts at my cleaning spot for that very reason and for the necks.

Thank you Jim. Yes it sure is warm, it’s close enough to the pole barn that it has its own dedicated electrical cirtcuit. He has an electric oil heater out there that he turns on and off with the breaker. It sure makes sitting all day a lot nicer than sitting in the cold.

Thanks bo, hopefully your Vulcan works out. I had my eye on those when I bought my taipan. I cooked a squirrel over the fire before and it was a little tough. I think next time I’ll try wrapping it in bacon to help keep it from drying out some.

Thank you pmg. Yeah I love that gun, it’s a shooter. I had a pair ofsnips I used to use but lost them somewhere. I plan on buying a pair of meat shears and keeping them in my hunting bag. Maybe I’ll get 2 pairs Incase I loose one again lol

Thanks! You can use your foot instead of the vise but I sometimes end up pulling the hair off the tail. The vise holds a lot better if you have one around. And it’s never too early for some sushi lol

You can turn just about anything into sushi. Now sashimi is a different story.
