need help sourcing a barrel for a slug gun build.

I'm hoping the forum can give me some direction. I've started a slug gun build on a marauder. Cothran valve, huma regulator (large plenum version) I want to tune it for the 40-50 grain slugs, and I'm looking for a custom barrel to have machined to fit the marauder breech. So far the only option I can find is a TJ barrel sold by mountain air customs. I can get it made to fit the breech and 26" long. It's unchoked but has a 1:22 twist rate, I believe the TJ slug barrels use a 1:14.... so the question is will 1:22 be sufficient? or are there other options to have one made out there, I don't have the tools to do it myself so I'll need somthing made for me to fit.

Hm you are right. I thought people were Making slower rate barrels now. Or is that just for pellets?

The TJ in .25 is 1:22. I have 2 of them. Let Roy build it and worry about other stuff. Like the 20 different slugs and lubes and sizers you are going to need to get it dialed in.

I was recently trying to put together a .250 marauder slug shooter and like you, could not find the unchoked barrels i was looking for. I think I was trying to find a 1:18 unchoked .250 barrel. 

My project stalled at that point and still sits on the work bench. I’ll be interested in hearing how your build goes.

Thanks for the input... mountain air has been really good to work with. they can order any of the TJ Barrles, so they are ordering a 1:14 barrel for me. should hae everythign here in a few weeks and we'll see how she does.
