So I have been having some POI issues and slightly erratic FPS issues. So I shot three pellets into a bucket of water and here is the result. Not conclusive till I shoot a couple mags into the water but thought I'd post to get your ideas.

If you look at my bolt probe, there appear to be machining chatter marks. Can't really see them being from the gun cycling.

How many winds is the magazine spring supposed to have on an FX semi auto?

How much play should there be in the bolt probe?

I don't know anything about Monsoons but are you able to chamber one with the probe and remove the barrel safely then push the pellet through? Shooting them in water would distort them so much might be hard to get any solid data to troubleshoot.

And yeah definitely looks like chatter marks, I would guess something is off in the probe mechanism if there's any play side to side when inserted in the barrel.

Hi and others.

Trying to assist you earlier , may have missed reply.
Did ask for chrony readings from a string .
Confirmation whether . 22 or .177. - as .22 has no regulator.

The monsoon at different fill pressures behaves oddly.

What fill pressure according to device filling it

is showing. Maybe you have a after market gauge on your gun , if so what is the reading. This I understand is a second hand gun with unknown history.

The violent action of the probe bolt action causes a lot of wear on the slider. Aluminium casting.

Additionally as you realise magazine tension also causes issues. As does pellet clipping.

IMO wear due to over pressure , high useage claps out these guns.

When my example decides to function in semi auto mode it is reasonably accurate. With little use there is wear visible.

If you have a good working example eventually I wish you well.

safe shooting

It's .22.

Older version with out the pressure gauge. No regulator. "Not" clipping on the way out of the barrel on end cap. Have not pushed pellet through the barrel. A little intimidated to start disassembly.

Filling to 3000 psi. Using nitrogen with a set regulator on the nitrogen tank.

I have several magazines from other FX guns, could try them.

Crony numbers.
