Marauder Question 2

Dear All,

I bought a Marauder .22 synthetic stock recently. Fired about 500 shots and couldn't able to resist the itch to join the club of Marauder Tinkerer. The gun is build in march 2018 as per the serial number. I request all to help me overcome the present situation.

1) Do I have to remove the airtube from the breech before removing the barrel.

2) is the barrel fixed to the breech by Locktite. I removed the setscrew and tried to pull it out but i couldn't.

You will see there are 2 set screws holding the barrel in the breach block.

Hi,

I removed the 02 set screws out of the breech and tried to pull it out without removing the air tube. However, i couldnoI able to take it out. Either I need to remove the airtube first or there may be locktiLo type of adhessia used to keep the barrel intact.

You need to remove the breech block from the air tube because the transfer port is in between the air tube and barrel.

No problem. I just had mine apart a few hours ago to clean and inspect. They are very easy to work on. Just remember to degas when working inside the air tube.

Congrats on your new Marauder. Ordering mine on Friday and it will be my first PCP. Buying the .177 synthetic stock also. 
I have a lot to learn......

Does the Marauder come with the degas tool?

Mine didn't. If you modify it with most of the common tunable spring kits, you can no longer use a degas tool either.

Thanks for the help. I dismantled it completely. There is only one o ring inside the barrell.

Yes, and be careful with that one. If it gets damaged it will leak air when you shoot and you will lose velocity. If you think it has damage put a piece of tissue over the bolt and fire the gun. If it has a leak the tissue will move.

All Marauders, regardless of caliber, should come with a degassing tool.

Tom - I believe Crossman stopped including degass tools about 2 years ago. I guess so few people use it, they decided to save the money.. You can still buy it for $15.

I emailed Crosman and they got back the same day! They do NOT include the degass tool. 

I'll order one when the time comes.

The use to come with degas tools, then they stopped, i bought two in 2010, both came with tools, an Armada in2016, no tool.
