LW barrel on FX Impact

A machine shop I'm going through to get this done doesn't see a problem threading the barrel to fit the inlet. Buying the part for 5$ that covers the transfer port, outside diameter the barrel will need to be and both inner and outer oring grooves as well as the dimple for the mag is a no brainer. IMO

If I had access to a lathe and the skills of Ernest then sure maybe it's better to just machine the barrel the exact shape of the brass barrel inlet. Also you would be doing it "blind" if changing calibers and not using it, unless you have really accurate schematics I would think.

No barrel blanks do not come with o-ring grooves cut as far as I know.

Might be worth emailing fxusa and seeing if they'll ship to you. They ship direct to me in Canada no problem

Here's a .22 one for a Royale 400

A lothar walther blank does not come with any of ring groove or seal. It's just a rifled tube of steel.

Think about it - older daystates had an oring on the pellet probe. Newer ones have it in the breech of the barrel.
Different brands have different length pellet probes and differently designed transfer ports.

The gun manufacturer is the one that chooses how and where to put it. LW would never be able to put an oring in and have it suit everyone that uses their barrels.

Guys, many thanks for all your informations. Seems I`m too stupid to handle like in the Video above :(
But its not a problem. Im just back from first shooting with the new STX barrel in 0.3 cal. and 600 mm length.
I can say its absolutely outstanding in precision to shoot with :) . Im excited and it`s hot for an old shaky guy like me to shot 20 mm groups in windy conditions about 50 meters.
I think now I don`t have the requirement to fit a LW barrel to my Impact, for the next time ... will see it ;)

Glem, if you could share the thread size and pitch for the brass inlet and stripper that would be great! Thinking of doing the same to my 400.

Im almost certain m9x1 for inlet but stripper im not sure. Pm me later and i can double check when im home.

I also have a bare breech block for a Royale 500 with the valve seat installed in it if youre interested. Would be a decent bump in power and all you'd need is an r500 valve pin complete and a couple other bits. Hammer weight and the stock mounting boss. (30$ in parts maybe) and would get you around 45fpe with a 24 inch barrel.

Hi everybody . I will post some pictures of my project. I install a 72 cm LW barrel in my gun. Is a new impact x 3 generation 30 cal. I preorder the gun new on December of 2018 and I receive my order beginning of August of 2019!!!! And the big surprise! I open the box and I see an impact x and not a mkii when the same time in USA they where delevering a second generation of mkii!! Unexeptable but this is a long story that I will post next days. I decided to keep the gun. All these months while I was waiting the gun I prepared all the necessary modes with the help of impact experts of this forum( Ernest , Edosan , heavy impact and so many others sorry if I can’t mention all of them)

1) replacement of reg with a huma extra high pressure

2) hammer weight 7 gram

3 ) install Michał 75 cc plenum from Poland( my project for external plenum under the real block was disaster ! Obviously something I made wrong)

4) brass tp and probe I made it with double holes ) Valve seat 6.5 mm.

5) replacing of course c3 derlin

6) Wika bar meters ( I just receive it didn’t install yet)

7) LW 72 cm 1:16 twist no chocked .

8) I add a utg picatiny rail 10 moa

9) finally install a New S&B pmii scope ( very hard efforts to bye it but finally done

Today I received as well the new version of valve housing with the vs milled from Fx but I didn’t install it yet . I gave it to the lathe to make the threads same dimension with the first vh versions to match in the threads of Michal plenum and to open the hole to 7mm. (As I read somewhere ,from factory is coming 6.5 if I am right)

Regarding the barrel I want to say that my only concern was the right fixing of the crown and the chamber. Is sounding like a joke for a gunsmith but in my country we don’t have any experience because we are not using any riffled barrels( only shotguns allowed ) Finally with a little help of YouTube we manage it and the results was much more better than I could imagine.

I gave a good cleaning the barrel and I was looking forward for the first tests. Ammo 65 grain NSA. Start shooting morning hours temperature was low reg at 175 bar muzzle speed 937 f/s later in afternoon climb at 955 max f/s . I didn’t took measurements from spring tension and valve adjuste screw .

First surprise. First shots after the barrel cleaning at 55 yards almost hole to hole. In my yard I didn’t have big range to shoot but I was shooting from a very stable platform with bipod.Later I tried to go in bigger range and start shooting from 55 up to 170 yards. Unfortunately I was shooting from a very unstable table ( I feel all time I am not stable enough ) the results good enough bad I know was me and the gun can better. In general is like the 65 grain NSA match perfect in this barrel. Sorry I don’t have pictures from grouping . Next week I will make a lot of shooting and I will post results. It surprised me when I shoot some apples at 60 yards and was making them something like steam .No piece to find down .
