"Bwalton"Wow....How many shots did it take? @228yards thats only about 9ftlbs.. enough to dispatch a rabbit with the right placement did you recover the rabbit? thats pellet was traveling around 410fps which i"m sure is enough just wanted to know where he was hit at , and what damage did it cause?
Naturally a good shooter/hunter practices one shot one kill.
Less than 12fpe is need in .177 or .22 for clean one shot kills at 50 yards, folks do it everyday. The power crazy thing is primarily a U.S. thing.
Harry knows his rifle, that is THE big requirement for good shots.
If looking to improve ones shooting (esp. in the U.S.) you might grab a sub. 12fpe rig , start shooting Field Target then when you get wind doping & hold over down, start practicing at longer ranges.
Not for hunting rather for practice I keep my long range "12fpe" .177 target at 110 yards - too far IMO for a clean kill- then apply knowledge to other airguns with practice. Massive power and huge/odd caliber is not required for clean hunting shots.
