Is the troy tune worth the money?

Yes, the tune it worth the money. It includes new valve, new hammer, polished trigger, new cocking lever, quiet kit and a bit of his mojo that makes the gun even better with air handling.

*** BUT *** the work is not lightning fast.

*** BUT*** the shop to customer communication is not good.

***SO*** Have faith and lots of paitents, and you will get a gun that is a joy to shoot . Thammer is the best out there with the Kral line.

He worked his magic on my .22 puncher and it’s really worth the money, rock solid since the work has been done, and mine is crazy accurate for a $600 gun,and for the record I have other guns from FX AND Ataman and have no problem grabbing the kral when it comes time to take care of a pest

I tune all my pcp guns , Id tune it and upgrade later. does his tune include a regulator?

No, but the valve work he does keeps the es to like 10 fps or something crazy like that .So dropping an additional 170 on a lane would be pointless .

I'm,looking for accuracy. I don't care about fps, or fpe .I want one ragged hole at 25 and a quarter at 50 .I believe with the right time, proper lead, and practice, the puncher can do this

Yea the customer communication is getting a tad annoying. Im trying to pay him via papal before I have even shipped my gun out and no response. In sending it out tomorrow, but I want to have it all paid before while I have the funds set aside for it.

Troy did an excellent job on my Breaker .22. I actually just ordered the rifle through him. He is less than an hour away from Pyramyd Air so picks them up there and tunes to order. If you want it to work well with a certain pellet weight he will take that into account during his setup which may take multiple Chrony sessions to accomplish.

Troy is a welll known tuner and he does have a backlog and it does take some time. My order took three months. But it has been everything I hoped. Full power is too much in the backyard. I have been killing black Agean roof rats with mine at 25 yards on half power. I have been firing five calibration shots each night I go out with a topped off reservoir. Getting essentially one hole groups less than dime size with a steady rest...

So, yes. If you have some patience Troy will do you a good job.

I did see you wound up picking Jefferson State Airguns. Don't forget to have them add their RAD cocking lever. I put one on mine and it adds a level of quality that quite frankly, Kral should install on their factory guns. The stock lever works, but is a floppy, tatty POS.

I look forward to reading about the results of your tune!

Thanks for the replies. Yea I'm torn .I hear such good stuff about troy and his tunes. But literally 3 months?! Thats just crazy talk there. I was sweating 3 weeks without it, but 3 months is ....well...I'm sorry, its unacceptable.

I am a true believer in the communication between parties when either and item is bought, sold, worked on etc. People that are paying, and ive been on both ends, want to know what is going on .Its human nature for most of us I guess .

I don't hunt with my gun. I save my hunting for deer season with my shotgun, rifle and muzzleloader . I am a backyard target shooter, that eventually I would like to try and find some local tourneys .I use,it to unwind and destress my day .Plus it keeps me "tuned" for deer hunting season.

Im going with Jefferson .And yes, the charge handle will be replaced. The stock one is a joke .Everytime I pull it back to load a round, im waiting for it to snap .

Also, off topic, but related .Does anyone make an upgraded hammer spring? The stock one just, doesn't make sense .Its too long and too stiff imo.

would you mind telling us what the tune cost ? I have a P/B 22 cal that has been down for a year.

The tune is a base 150 . Plus you have to pay for shipping both ways.

Mine had the valve replaced due to stock breaking as they all do.

Upgraded hammer spring

Install de pinger

Install harden sear

All trigger components polished to leave a 1lb 4oz pull.

Re crown the barrel .

They took the shroud off. It wasn't true and could possibly cause clipping .They did re install it on the return, but said I should just remove it and run my sumo straight to the barrel.

So grand total is up there. The new valve alone was 180 . so with shipping I was close to 500 for the whole deal .

Now yes thats almost the cost of just a new breaker, but it now shoots as follows:

Pull back charge handle with my pinky . No more heavy hammer spring cranking down on the charge handle .

Load magazine .Take aim at target, and pfft, send a jsb 18g at 900 fps is all you hear .No pinging, no leaking, no valve creep, no trigger creep .

The gun feels solid .does it feel like an fx or daystate, well no, but it does feel 100% better than it did. Plus just a ragged hole at 30 yards. Ill get to shoot further this weekend and report.
