Impact question

While shooting I noticed my speed dropping off. My hammer spring grub screw was backing out when shooting, pulled the hammer spring power adjuster and noticed small dings on the cam. Is this normal wear? I have shot this gun a lot. Just wondering if someone else has run across this before.

The one on my Crown has some small marks on it in a few positions.

Yes that’s normal. On to my second one on my Impact. It is a part that I’d love to see made in a harder metal.

It’s a sacrificial component!, it’s in many mechanical devices!,the problem arises when things aren’t engineered extremely well or hurried into production... I saw this in my crown as well, really not that problematic in my opinion but owners need to be aware of it and the issues of velocity inconsistencies with wear? Just one of the concerns I had with this multi-caliber wide velocity platform ( so many variables to keep track of over time/wear/caliber etc.) excellent idea- poor execution IMO!

Yes probably a known wear item. But don't you think is reasonable given the price point for FX to make this out of a more robust material like bronze or steel?

Thanks for the input! I just wanted to make sure I didn't over adjust something. Has anyone had that grub screw back out while Shooting? Usually I just set it and it would stay put. I put a little blue loc tight on it, I'll see how it holds up tomorrow.

Just be glad the use of mags doesnt damage the gun, now thats a big f-up.

Touche’... but lets be fair, I’m critical of all Manufacturers that have flaws/faults! ( these guns I have OWNED, so do have some experience with them! ) These are my opinions only... FWIW?

Just a reminder: Make sure the gun is not cocked when adjusting the wheel. I am not saying you do, but I noticed there seems to be scratchmarks between the dents, which to me could look like the spring has been under tension while the wheel have been turned.
