How to Attach Front of Sling on TX200

I know I'm going to want to attach a sling to my TX200 very shortly after it arrives. I'm intending it to go to the woods with me and I have slings on all my rifles. The butt is easy and I've installed those many times. However, I'ver searched and found that band-attached slings on the underlever can cause the lever to open.

Other than a very elaborate and very nice thread where a fellow made a brass piece to attach a swivel stud around some inner workings of the lever, I can't find anything else. I'd be tickled to buy that DIY device the fellow fabricated, but I'm not aware they are for sale.

I also saw a picture where someone drilled a larger hole in the side of the fore end and inserted one of this single point, AR-type sling attachments.

Suggestions are certainly appreciated.

I used a Grov-Tec barrel band type, forget the size but can check tomorrow!

Does the lever stay in place when you carry?

Part of the trick to make the barrel band type work with undeliverable is to keep the band near the pivot point of the cocking lever. Too close and it interferes with the full cocking stroke, too far away and it causes the lever to open due to the weight of rifle

I used the barrel band on the cocking lever of my HW97 successfully, but the TX doesn't have a secure latch. Your best bet will be side mounting the swivel.

Thanks, I’m looking into the side mount option. I saw a pic of a stock that had been drilled for flush mount. Push in but can’t find it now. Sure do hate drilling big flush mount hole though.

After reading up on flush cups, I’m not going that route. Too risky.

The rifle was suppose to arrive today. Delayed until tomorrow. Hoping the rifle will tell me what to do. Have to have sling for woods walking.

I ordered Grovtec band today. I’ll place as close to stock as I can without interfering with action. This is before sling.
