How to Achieve the Most Out of Your FX Impact

Simple, use whatever Ernest Rowe produces. The man is a genius and mad scientist.

I am now able to shoot .30 44gr pellets at over 920fps. For some or most of us, that will not be most accurate, but to be able to achieve it is amazing. Did I mention that I was able to get that speed at only 140bar!!!

I detuned the impact a little and put it at 125b and was shooting 865fps. I believe II was getting over 60 shots with a 250b fill. I lost count. Just imagine with smaller calibers how man shots you can get.

Not to mention, the shot string at this speed is unbelievable. Well, I got my best shot string in a speed from 850-900fps. I'm sure with more tuning it can be wherever you want it. I just happened to actually record string at 880. It was this consistent all the way down to 850 and up to 900fps.

I am so pleased with this gun now and the .30. I will be trying 50gr this weekend to see what it likes and what kind of speed I'm capable of. Everything that turned me off of the .30 is so appealing now. Now if only the cost was a little less per pellet, it would be perfect!

Well considering things wear out and you need to maintain this gun like all guns, baseline was about 865-870 at 140b for .30 44gr.

I did take a reading when it was shooting at 900fps. Here it is.

I would be jumping up and down ecstatic if I had a .30 Impact that shot accurately and consistently at 80fpe with either the 44 or 50gr JSB or the 46 gr FX Boss pellets or the 50gr Daystate Emperor pellets.

By comparison, my box stock Bobcat .30 has always shot and still does as of Monday of this week 44 gr avg 901 fps and 50gr 862gr for 4 mags of 9 round each (36 total) on the reg from the 470cc cylinder with tight ES and SD. Purchased Feb 2015.

in fact, it was the .30 Bobcat that scrambled the eggs of the deer in my sig pic at 93 yards.

@Way2evl, the 82fpe muzzle speed for 44.75 grains is 909fps and you are right, i should try this 44.75 grains pellets. Most likely its BC is different so it may help.

@Mick-VA, wow, you are absolutely right to be proud of that shot and your Bobcat can deliver 82fpe though it's been advertised at 76fpe only. My point is the numbers advertised by FX are pretty accurate and i want to prove it as i love the Impact, compact but powerful and Ted can testify for its accuracy, lol.
