HF Apache 9800 vs Pelican 1750

Apache has stepped up their game. This is the most robust clone I have ever used modeled after the Pelican 1750. 

The Apache comes in at $149 ($99 w/coupon) as the Pelican comes in at $270.

Built exactly the same way right down to the steel hinge pins...except, Apache holds Pull-n-Pluck foam. Pelican does not.

each has a micron style purge valve.

both have a bigass o-ring gasket

Both are EXACTLY the same size( 50”x13”x5” )

the bonus here is how cheap the Apache case is compared to the Pelican, the pull n pluck foam is hard to argue with.

Can't comment on the rifle case but I have the HF Apache 3800 pistol case and it is excellent.

The only thing I can see that May be an issue if that the foam is open cell and therefor absorbs and holds moisture. It's only an issue if you store the gun in the case for long periods or you have it open in the rain or put a wet gun back into it. I've contemplated buying the(HF case) next size down for air travel.

Make sure to look up the coupon for it. The one I found was good until 7-7-19 kinda want to buy two more cases. One for the Wife’s new gun and one for my new future gun. can’t beat the price at $99.

Not a problem Fuss. Do some looking around, buy and swap out the foam to closed cell foam. Then it’s absolutely perfect.

See, I have a few of these also for my GoPro’s and my side-shot. I just haven’t taken the time to...once again....pull some foam. Lol

John, I couldn’t agree with you more. That open cell is super cheap. Of course they’re going to use it. To replace the foam with some PE closed cell is like $16-20. But you aren’t going to get that Pick-n-Pull foam. I’m actually in the process of figuring out how much a custom cut Pro-Cell is going to run. Just waiting for the e-mail back. 

I don’t know how traveling with a 50”x13” case is like. I might eventually go with the next size down. At 24lbs empty, this case is a beast.
