After playing with my 25 cal Condor's and my 25 cal Sumatra and even my Career 22's I don't think I can go back to guns shooting less than ~40 fpe for serious hunting.. Yes I have some pretty powerful springers and gas ram guns, my stock Disco is a nice shooting starling and pigeons gun ... but it is not a powerhouse hunting gun.
Powerful PCP guns are just in a different world. Being I shoot mostly in the high desert where shots are almost always 50-75 yds, downrange ballistics are of major importance. My PCP guns are able to do it and because of their lack of recoil they are easier for me to be more accurate with.
I just recently had a Hatsan AT44's .22 up for trade .... man alive I'm glad no one took me up on it, although I came pretty close. Although that gun is not in the same power category as my Condors, Sumatra or Career's it is a pretty powerful gun giving me 20fpe at 80 yds, not to shabby !! I was not sure at first but I think it has what it takes for GS and Jacks, not just ~75 yards starlings and pigeons.
How many of you are slowly letting go of your springers or ? because of the power of PCP's.
