Grandson got a couple of ground squirrels with his Crosman break barrel.

Is that a TR77 he has? Good choice.

I think it is. I was surprised how loud it is. Seems to shoot pretty well and pellets he was using (7.6 something) were deadly.

Yeah, that's not an actual LDC/TKO on the end of the barrel. It's actually a muzzle brake to redirect the air to counter the recoil. According to this, says it cuts the recoil by 50%.

7.6 pellets would be zipping right out of it. The above article says the velocity of 7.6 pellets would be approximately 1075 fps for 19.5 fpe. That's some serious power for a .177.

The is awesome! However i would not touch those things as they are known to carry the plague.

I always wash my hands after touching a dead critter,

Your comment reminds me of Monty Python, "Bring out your dead"..

washing your hand is a must but most of the time the plague is transmitted by the flees that live on them so washing your hand won’t help with that. Best is just to leave them for the carrion eaters.

bring out your dead, bring out your dead! I’m not dead yet, wack! Hahaha!
