FX Smooth twist?

I last month acquired a FX Impact X 700 mm .30 caliber from Utah Airguns. I'm confused as to if I have the Smooth Twist barrel that is fully rifled or the Smooth Twist barrel that is only rifled at the last few inches at the muzzle end. I have not been able to get a email reply from Utah Airguns.

I believe all Impact X rifles have the STX barrel out of the box. You could pull the liner out (very easy) and check. Because of the way these things are manufactured, you can see the extent of the rifling on the outside of the liner. Full length = STX

I think you mean smooth twist X. All impact now comes with smooth twist X. Only old impact few years back comes with smooth twist. It's easy to tell the difference. Take the shroud off. Not hard right? Just twist it off. You will see the barrel. Use a wrench to take the from cap off and you will see the liner. Pull liner out. If the rifling goes all the way back it's a smooth twist X. If it goes only 3-4 inch it's an old smooth twist.

I believe that FX announced that all guns with liners are now shipped with the X-Barrel liners. To answer your question as others have done. You have the fully "rifled" (X-barrel) liner on your Impact

Yes, yours is fully rifled. That's why they call it the Impact X, because all impact X's have the STX barrel which is the rifled one.
