So I decided to replace the stock installed (by AOA) FX regulator with a Huma in my Royale 500, 0.25 caliber. I'm using JSB Exact Heavy Mk II, 33.95 grain. I am using the new FX Radar Chronograph. This is a older Royale (circa 2015, internal regulator, 3 position power wheel only). Power wheel is position 3 (3 dots).
I did everything according to the instructions, so far so good. The Huma regulator is set to 140 (which is the default it came set at, if that matters).
I'm just not getting the magical 840 ish FPS that everyone seems to want to get with this pellet. I am seeing like 770s-780s. I was seeing only like 760 with the FX reg.
I just did a test to see where it drops off the regulator, and it is dropping off at around 110-115 bar. I filled the gun to 165 bar to start, and was able to shoot 41 shots before it started to drop off! That 110-115 bar is both the gauge on the gun, and when I hook my tank up to fill the gun, it also opens the gun's fill valve at 115 bar (reading the air tank's accurate gauge), so it seems those are the same reading.
Ideas on what is going on? If the reg is set to 140, shouldn't I see the velocity drop off at the pressure?
I tried to raise the reg to 150 bar but that actually seems like it lowers the velocity.
Thanks in advance....
