Hi guys, I have just acquired a .22 Fx impact mk2 with 700mm stx barrel. Looking at the several posts here and youtube videos I was wondering if it is more difficult to get better accuracy from a 700mm barrel than a 600mm barrel due to harmonics. What do you guys say or have experienced?

Having all 3 barrels lengths (500,600 and 700mm) in a variety of calibers from .22 to .30 on different FX platforms including Dreamline, Impact, MK3 and Maverick. My experience is No, it is not difficult to tune a 700mm stx barrel compared to a 600mm with pellets, for harmonics. Slugs are another story.The process to achieve this is stated here in many posts by very qualified members. Have a great time with your Impact!!!

For pellets all the barrel length are pretty close with the 700mm version might need a bit more harmonic tuning. With higher power slugs the 700mm barrel can be more challenging. Once tuned there aren’t any accuracy difference, just power difference.
