FX Bobcat Trigger Reset Question

Greetings. This is my 1st post here and new to PCP airguns, but long time shooter/reloader. 
So I bought a used MK1 .25 Bobcat, which is in great shape and with JSB Exact Kings is shooting great. I do have one question and that is when I press the trigger through the 1st stage and then release the trigger without firing should the trigger reset? Mine doesn't. The only way I can reset the 1st stage is to cycle the safety or push forward on the trigger. Otherwise the trigger stays up against the 2nd stage. Thanks

Look at the springer under the trigger bar may be binding. Then look at the linkage for binding.

Thanks. Everything looks in order and moves freely. Another "symptom" is that I can release trigger pressure anywhere within the 1st stage travel range, just short of the 2nd stage engagement, and the trigger will reset. Once I press up against the 2nd stage is when the trigger "freezes" and requires the safety to be cycled or pushing the trigger forward to reset the 1st stage. The gun otherwise fires normally.

Wewing, I had the same issue with mine. I believe I ended up shortening the first stage a little so that it didn't travel to that certain point of no return. I also lightened the first stage so that my second stage would be more evident, but that was a different problem all together. You might try shortening the FS though.

I have the same issue with my Bobcat MK2. De-cocked, it resets perfectly. Cocked, it doesn't reset if you go beyond a certain point. It's really annoying and i've been trying to fix it with no luck.

Just watched a video from Ernest Rowe explaining it and in a post he mentioned that it's caused by second stage being too light. Made the adjustments and now it's perfect.

yea, I think that's a good way of explaining it. Mine is working great now. Sure helps with having confidence in the shot sequence.

mine doesn't reset when cocked what screw will fix this I like the return

There are two ways of fixing this:

• one is the above mentioned way by increasing the second stage weigth and travel (screwing the ball plunger in).
• Another way is to polish the surface of the sear link that touches the trigger roll, this allows the second stage to be lighter and still function (https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/fx-trigger-not-resetting-fix-and-the-anatomy-of-the-trigger/)
