EDgun Edgun Leshiy 2

I would never see 2.2 kilograms being a problem. In fact I find that remark about the weight was being too much a little silly. Kinda like mountain biking where you have light versus stupid-light, meaning not durable enough to the intended use. IE: In Ed we trust!.

I'll still be wanting a Lelya 2.0 before the Leshiy 2.0.... but until then, I have my Leshiy Classic :)

The retail price of this gun is 79 000 Rubles in Russia, which is 1000USD.

See http://edgun-shop.ru/product/edgun-leshiy-2-250/

The retail price is approximately 2000USD in other countries which is too high to say the least. I think it is unethical to charge more then double the retail price as the international market is bigger then the Russian market and the manufacturer stands to make much more sales on the international market. In the UK and other countries, customers were told to prepay the full amount to be in the queue for their gun which has not even been manufactured yet. They will have to wait months until they get their guns. Now they were given a "concession" and told that they only have to prepay half the amount which is ironically the retail price of the gun in Russia. Why should we as customers outlay the cost of manufacturing a product as we don't share the profits of that product with the Edgun company.

I watched closely how Edgun is using a strategy where they are monitoring the demand for the gun and inflate prices accordingly. This will be what will unfold in the USA as I see that up to now prices have conveniently not been specified.

The manufacturer can argue that they can only produce a certain amount of guns per day and therefore the production is limited. This is not the customer's problem.Edgun is not a new company and have made and sold many other guns before this one. They have been around since 2002.Any manufacturer will naturally invest a substantial chunk of the profits back into the company so that the funds can be invested into better faster more accurate equipment like CNC and lathe machines, bigger premises, more staff etc. to maximise production.Quality does not have to be compromised. The number of people in QC will increase according to the proportion of increase in production. Service will even be better because dealers don't have to tell their customers that they are sold out.

Another argument that the manufacturer can make is that the gun is unique.Well the first generation Leshiy was unique but didn't cost this much.

Edgun should have manufactured guns for 6 months so that they physically have stock and then launch the guns for sale at a reasonable price to the market. That is the right thing to do.

How many of us can actually say we are comfortable paying that much for a new airgun? Especially in the current world economy. I remember when the FX Impact came out and I was like wtf when I saw the pricing. I'm not saying that Ed is basing his pricing on how much better he feels the Leshiy2 is over the Impact or other guns in demand right now but I would be shocked if it wasn't a part of their strategy to say his product is worth as much. Costs and raw materials I'm sure vary. I'm sure alot of people can see a World Recession soon to follow and with people out of work right now and businesses trying to stay open it would be safe to say it is almost inevitable and coming so I don't know how many working people in normal circumstances will be able to buy a Leshiy2 right when it comes out. If someone feels like they are being taken advantage of it's OK for them to voice their opinions.

EDgun should, EDgun must and all bla-bla-bla... You sounds like bloody socialists, whos poop I have eaten enough in my Soviet Union life, before USSR was gone. I was tought that an idea to countr somebody's income has a quite bad taste in the West world, but watching what has been happening now in that world, how easy this World forgets all the human rights and all the bullpoop it tried to feed us with so I just think that it was another myth as well. OK, one more disappoint of the West Dream fable, I am used to it already....

First of all, the key principle of life to me -- nobody owes you anything! Neither government, not your relatives, or friends, nobody. When you have it driven in your mind, you have no disapoints of anything happening around. Thus nobody has to follow your wish to spend less money for what you want. It is quite easy if you want something but you don't have money for that -- you just don't need it. As, for example I don't need any modern yach, since I have no money for that. And if I go the yacht factory yelling about high prices... you know what answer I will get, right?

One of the stupidest thing is to compare the prices in different countries, not paying attention to different factors. Wnat the Leshiy 2 for the price in Russia? There is no problem, just came and take it, easy to do! We are not yelling that cars in Russia cost twice the price of the cars in Germany or USA or other countries. If we need them, we buy them if we don't need them or we have no money for them -- we just take something made in Russia, worse quality but less expensive. How you, from the West world has tought us -- free market? Yes, right, when capital from USA and other West world countries came to Russia after USSR was gone and bought everything for nothing, that was very good and right way, wasn't it? Now, when it turnes back you start to say "That is wrong!". Really!? Well, you tought us this, just accept the fact we were a good students.

Any thing cost the exact price people are willing to pay to get it. Even if somebody thinks that is unfair. That is the main economic law of the free market. I did a wonderful product, having spent enormous volumes of time, skills, money and resources for that. You want me to give it you for free, just to please you? Really!? I think you want to insult me by that proposal... We say in Russia the oats are cheap, but the boats are expensive...

Oh, I have an idea! I will sell this idea and all the documentation to FX to make the gun and sell it to the clients! I think they will take it with pleasure. And I will be quite happy, making just pure creation of the new projects, and selling them to the other companies. No claims for the price, no service head ache, no expenditures for the sales to my workers. Pure creativing and pure income. Would do you think? Will you complain FX price the same lever for this gun? :)

With the best regards

Ed

Awesome response ed.

@rjgta taking advantage of someone is charging a high price for an essential item. Airguns are not essential items by any means. Nobody needs a top of the line airgun, its a luxury item just like high end cars and other similar items. Not everyone drives $60,000+ cars and that's ok. My Hyundai elantra gets me to the same place as any other luxury car. Buy what you can afford and be happy with what you have.

Exactly! I am not the only one bread manufacturer in the country where all people are starving for to blame me for high prices. I make just toys. Expensive toys, that is true, but I haven't heard that anybody has died of not being able to buy a toy... :)

You sound like a passenger in a car that’s telling the driver how to drive. It’s easy to criticize when you’re sitting in the crowd watching the game from the outside perspective.

Just took delivery of a new Lelya 2.0 from EdgunWest yesterday - only sent a few pellets through her so far since my scope won't arrive until Sunday.

And I will happily buy a Leshiy 2 as soon as they're availble for $2K+

People bitching that the price is different in different countries is just stupid. There are so many issues with international commerce that can generate significant increased cost. Couple of them right here - domestic vs international shipping, tariffs, C2C vs C2B (he owns the store in Russia, so he can sell direct for the same price he sells to vendors internationally, and those companies need to make money and pay overhead, shipping, etc). This all adds up.

If you don't want it or can't afford it, that's fine. Just quit whining.

Question about the magazine seals:

Maybe it has been answered, if it has please point me to the link. How is the magazine sealed against dust and grime from gumming up the internals? I realize it’s not designed for severe conditions, but I am wondering about how things are sealed in order to protect the mechanisms so they continue to rotate and have the timing needing to align the pellet with the barrel.

Thanks,

Brad

Hey Ed,

Thanks for the participation here and for the entertaining response to our comrade from the British Colony. I'll bet if he could see the world through your eyes and experiences the ignorance wouldn't be so blatant. Of course, I'm saying this as Western Capitalist that believes Socialism is a disease. I'm happy for you that you have some access to markets outside your motherland and that you have a passion for this niche hobby. I hope the market will bear whatever price point you choose and that a big ass boat is affordable for you one day. But at the same time I'm a ugly spoiled American living in Disneyland so I need you to get my Leshiy together immediately . Oh,also I guess it's OK for Edgun West to make a decent profit also. Thank you for making one of my favorite expensive toys cause I hate cheap ones.✌️

Cheers,Scott

People forget a few years ago when Edguns were almost impossible to find or buy, some were paying as much as 2500 for a used edgun single shot. I paid 2000 for a used R1 and was happy to get it. If you want a cheaper gun, their are dozens available. I later sold that Edgun for 1500 and folks on the classified were saying it was a scam because I was selling it so cheap! The way I look at it 2000 for a gun that I will own 10 yrs possibly cost only 200 a year to own. Ed thank you for giving us another edgun to get excited about!

Like some other magazines, no seals against dust. But in comparison to other systems (automatic magazines, for example), this magazine is open, nothng can get inside it and jam it. The same with the mechanism of the revolving. It is closed, has no connection to the outdoor :) Only ratchet. The roller which make the chamber to match the barrel is difficult to stop by dirt. I cannot see any problem with the dirt or dust for this system.

Ordering the Leshiy 2 - this is much more than buying another air gun - for Me it's an highly enjoyable journey, Ed responding to customers, the never boring, funny and down to earth videos (I love the communication between Olga and Ed), how it was hyped with the spoof video, the "how it was made" videos, everything - these guys clearly love what they do, a big Thank You to Ed and the Team for sharing!
