I had a slow leak start, and since it was exiting through the barrel, it had to be the valve area. So I took out the valve, leaving the valve seat in. What I found was that the valve spring had really rough ends, and had grated fine plastic from both the spring guide and back of valve stem. There was quite a lot of grease smeared everywhere from factory, so it is possible the fine shavings had got caught, but on close inspection there appeared to be a couple of specs on the valve seat. After a clean, and polishing the spring ends, I reinstalled it and so far so good, with nothing coming out the barrel.
It's only a dot, I know, but it's gone after cleaning.
So after my experience with the hammer spring too, It wouldn't be a silly idea for D/Line owners to check these springs for rough edges.
PB.
