I'm not sure I follow what you are trying to say. The best I can gather is you have a home made .177 rifle shooting 14.11 gr pellets at 919 FPS generating 31 joule (22.86 ft/lb) energy. I don't get the part about the "undead dove" though.. Are you saying you are unable to kill a dove with a .177 pellet flying at 919 FPS?

[/url]Pigeons are pretty tuff birds, I think more so than a crow. I use a .22 and had some flying off, undead after being hit center mass. hitting the spine at the base of the neck seems to work good to drop them. One of Ted's vids show pigeon anatomy, may want to check it out, placement is everything.
