Does the Daystate Harrier use the Harper valve and/or slingshot hammer?

I don't know if this is your problem, but many PCPs will dump air if the tank pressure falls below a certain level. On top of that they often cannot be filled from empty without cocking the gun and relieving hammer spring pressure from the valve.
The Harrier (a loss leader version of the original Huntsman) is a pretty old design so there are probably not upgrades being manufactured for these guns. I don't think even Daystate has any standard parts in inventory. There is probably more information on the old Huntsman as I believe it was a more popular rifle.

You probably just need to reseal the Harrier with a new set of O-rings. They harden over time and lose their ability to seal.

I owned a Harrier that had a pronounced ping and sounded like a tuning fork on every shot. They all ping and it is annoying. The most common cure to put a piece of 1" long lengthwise cut and curled up plastic tubing that uncurls to stay in place. Push it half way down down the cylinder with a wood dowel. I found a better fix. Buy a cheap bottle brush at a dollar store and cut the wire off an inch beyond the end of the bristles. Get one that is larger around than the diameter of the cylinder. Bend a loop at the end of the wire so it can be pulled out with a section of coat hanger wire with a hook bent on the end. Push the wire bristles to the center of the air tube. It won't displace much air capacity and the ping will completely vanish. Easy cheap fix and it works.

If I should run into an unrecoverable problem, does anyone know if the classic Huntsman or any of its successors will fit in this stock?

scrane - I had a Quackenbush that would dump like that, but this wasn't that. It had held air reliably up to that day, I filled it to 3000psi and shot about 15 shots (normally ~25 shots is 3% ES, so that is where I refill.) This guy just gave up the ghost. As for the B50 - that's a good thought, if it keeps the gun going. Now that I think about it, I will have to see if my B51 barreled action will fit in the stock. :) 

Humdinger - that is what I am hoping, that I have just lost a valve O-ring. The gun was supposed to have been resealed just before I bought it from its previous owner, but that has been about two years ago. I suppose they don't last forever. :) Thanks for the tip on the bottle brush. I can't say I've noticed an annoying ping, but I'm mostly used to shooting cheap guns, so they might all have annoying ping. :)

I believe the newer Huntsman Classic is fitted with a pressure gauge viewed from the bottom of the stock. I would think your Harrier does not have a stock pressure gauge fitted. The older Huntsman mk2 may very well fit in the Harrier stock. 
Again, guys at the Daystate Owner's Club might be your best source for information on compatibility and o-rings. There are also owner's manuals at that site that may help. You do have to be registered to enter.

Thank you sir. I finally Got AoA on the phone since I didn't get a response to my initial email. Long story short, it looked like I would have to send them the valve, so I just put it all back together to send in for reseal and test. Yeah, I wimped out. :) I only get a few hours per week to shoot as it is, I don't really want to trade that in for wrenching time, and I know AoA will get it done right. 

As for the upgrade questions, I think it is what it is, and that's fine. 

I found out that it did already have a bottle brush in the air tube, that's why it didn't ping. But it didn't have a wire to get it back out, so it was rather challenging. When I get the gun back I will install one that's more easily accessible.
