Diana Diana 52 25M

Today I got my 52 out, and just like my 54 that I shot Xmas eve, I have not shot my 52 either in approximately 5 years.

Same as with my 54, it did not hold it’s zero. I took baby steps, adjust, shoot, rinse repeat.

I started upper left target, lower right. Same on right side and 5 shot group in center in that order and called it good.

With my 54 in .22 I cut my groups in half with Hectors tuner. I have also experimented with torque on the 2 stock bolts. 45 inch lbs on both works well along with blue locktite. I shot a lot at 20 meters. 5 shot groups usually about like your clump at 10:00 in the 10ring. Every 25 shots I check torque. 50yds lots of .5 or less. Under 1.5 at 100 for the best groups. Always shoot outdoors with flags.

Right on, my 54 printed amazing groups pre storage, but it has always had a wondering POI. It would shoot approximately 20 shots on the money, then I would have to dial it back to zero. Made it challenging to shoot 25M USARBR, but I knew the Rifle very well back then. I have been try to get out my springers that I have not shot in years, I kinda forgot how much attention they need, and in hindsight, I wish I would have not acquired so many springers and will probably thin the herd as I just don’t have enough time anymore. I was disappointed at the groups that I shot with my 54 the other day and did not show them in my D54 thread. Before my break from shooting, I had gone through my 54 and marked my scope for movement and blue loctited everything.

I shot my FWB yesterday, and it too has storage issues. It was right up there in accuracy with my D54, but it also showed a wondering POI that never existed before, thought it came around after many shots and adjustments, but I ran out of time and patience spending a couple hours with it and had no worthy groups to share.

If they sat that long you have to wonder about seal degradation, lubes drying out, etc. Did you chrono? The 54/56 in particular are finicky and need some playing around with before finding the sweet spot. My stock torque on my 56T/H is much lower than JEFFPPC is on his 54 but it’s where my gun is happy. Attached is 5 at 25. Hadn’t been shot in a couple months before. Box stock other than sled being leveled and torque settings adjusted, your 54 should do same or better. No wandering POI. Nitrocrushr has excellent articles on tuning and adjusting settings on these guns. Such a blast when they’re right. POI on my 52 does wander a little on occasion. I think it’s that dang shroud/sight assembly. Just got a HPM for it from Hector. Installing it on my 52 and the CF shround and HPM on my 56 this weekend as well. Let you know how it goes.

The other day I had 4 groups in a row with 4 in a .23 hole. Then one that made it oval. I don't know if it's the gun or the fact it's a .22 not a .177. Any thoughts. With my TX in .177 It will shoot those true looks like 1 pellet 5 shoot groups often enough it's what I am trying to shoot. However out doors at 50 and 100 the 54 in .22 rules. That's what I bought it for.

Can’t imagine it’s because it’s .22. Relative size would still be the same .22 vs .177. Mine is .177 and will do the above all day long if I do my part. I’m hoping the HPM will get me closer to the one hole group. As is for a .177 making 18 FPE I'm pretty impressed with it.
