Daisy Power line 617x and 622x

I just noticed that these little hotties have been discontinued and I can't find a single one anywhere for sale.

I'm really surprised. For a cheap gun they were very accurate and extremely hard hitting for a CO2 pistol.

Anyone know why they dumped such a winner and didn't follow up with anything even close to matching its power and accuracy ?

There seems to be some reluctance among airgun manufacturers to put out powerful semi-auto air pistols in anything bigger than .177. While not confirmed, I theorize it's because they don't want to deal with the legal fallout if a kid got hold of something like that and managed to kill himself or someone else.
