Diana Common problems with a 54?

Hi Folks,
I’m looking at buying a second hand 54.
What should I be looking out for with regards to wear and tear parts, things that commonly fail or might need replacing?

Well, either there are no 54 experts here, or there is nothing that goes wrong with 54’s…

Had one for years, with zero issues.....other than the user. They can be a bear to cock all afternoon as you near age 70. So I'm told...

My 54 is a bear to cock BUT has a broken spring (i think) . OH just noticed NZ land probably a slim chance to find one to handle .
I have shot one that was new out of the box about 6 months. Im 78 and still bought mine after shooting that one .

I'm 76. Always been a little guy. I have no problem. Often shoot 75 to 100 shots a day. Yes it took a bit of getting use to but I think it's a mind thing mostly.

I am 75 and 5'6" , so what? I can cock my Diana 54 as much as I care to shoot it. Benchrest only, but I shoot most of my spring rifles that way. The D54 us a cannon. No recoil is so nice.

I’ve found a second hand one, just waiting to find out how old it is before I make an offer.

I love my 54. solid, compact and High power for a springer. just don't let anyone who doesn't know the loading procedure to cock the gun, unless you want a bent closing arm. Happened twice to me.
