I do have an older IR Bug buster 3-9x32mm with a forward AO.. Not sure its in working order any longer after it took a nasty spill. I am trying to keep it as small and compact as possible...That old Bug Buster works/d well in tandum with mounted flash light back in the day, not sure I can still find one new. I see the new gen has a side wheel AO which is cool, I love the UTG Swat 44mm I have on my Synrod, but it dosnt seem to come with IR.. I like the red dot reticals, and they are fast to aim, I like the long eye relief as it aids in quick acquisition of target, but man past 5 yards i cant see. Need some magnification I thought about adding a magnifier, but that little gun dosent have much room to mount both it and the dot sight.. maybe i'll just buy a scope for day work and keep the dot for night shooting.
I have gotten rid of a few flocks of pegion's. It eventually comes to the point of shooting them at night as they roost. Inside barn's under bridge's, and other pole buildings. I had used a break barrel for this with the older gen bugbuster, the riffle was not the best for this work. So far with the Synrod, I've been able to take out pigeon's at a location from about 80 yards out. I dont think they have seen me, and I hike 1/4 mile so I know they havnt figured my truck out yet, but they have figured out that open area isnt safe... They like to roost in this pole building in the rafters, but I cant walk up in daylight hours or they spook. At night with red light they could care less, but still its damn hard to see anything threw this non magnification red dot. The rafters are about 10 yards high or so
Anyways the right optic is hard to decide on
