JON222 kindly state in a factual manner just what pellets ( by name ) and exact model and type of rifle/pistol you are using. while your statement indicates you are dissatisfied with some or all pellets and prices it tells us nothing about which pellets and what air gun you are using. I shoot three diana's mdls 27,34, and an AMO8 ; I have a airforce arms talon ss and an impact plus a Bobcat. I shoot JSB, Crosman, and Benjamin pellets. in .177 , .22 , and .25. each pellet has been chosen by trial and error based on the information I gather here on the forum. In my guns they work quite well. Your statement is unclear and no reasons are given as to why you are unhappy you seem to sight cost, "dirtyness" and some unstated factor which causes you to find them unsatisfactory. Bluntly your statement is being called a rant because it lacks information and is vague and goes against our experience with air guns and pellets. .22 long rifle shells run between .08 to more than .20 cents per each shot. I purchase Crosman premier .22 pellets at $6.00 for 500. Little more than 1 cent each. My JSB .25 are now at $18 per tin of 350 if I buy 12 tins shipping and every 4th tin is free and my cost per each is about 3.56 cents per shot. I can shoot my air rifles everyday at home, I have to leave my residence to shoot any of my firearms. As far as "dirty" goes I have yet to clean any pellet and seldom clean my air guns. I'm sure lead oxide and dust exists on the pellets BUT I've never found any particles of lead dust, lead, or any other substance in any of the tins, boxes, or containers of pellets I have looked at or used. and I have been using them for the last 58 years. I don't do bench rest. My targets are usually canned food lids from the small tomato paste lids at 25 yds to 3" lids at 70 yds. at home bottle caps etc entertain me. But my favorite is squirrel, the object is to line up a clean shot with a backstop to catch the pellet in the event I miss while shooting from my backyard blind. I shoot for stew and to eliminate damage to trash cans, lawn furniture cushions, water hoses, tulip buds ( they seem to think the buds contain nuts) and other items the chew up i.e. downspout extensions, hose sprinklers and nozzles. All this said and provided you have read this far your statement is confusing leaves out necessary facts and suggests there may be something else going on. Please clarify your statement with more facts or I shall be force to disregard further statements.
