Does anyone have any info on this subject? I dont know if it is worth buying a Texan carbine if it is not going to happen.

Airgun is restricted in new York. Even small bore. Airgun Depot and prymaid air won't even ship small bore airgun to NY.

I think they just won’t ship to New York City. In the rest of NY there are no restrictions I’m aware of on small boar . If purchased many rifles over the past few years and as long as your zip is not a NYC one your OK. I’ve bought rifles from Utah, AOA, SPAW and others no problems.
as far as big bore for hunting goes I like to one day be able to use a air gun as I hate wearing hearing protection but until they change the rules I’ll stic to my 30 06.

We 'real' NYers need to wipe NY 'city' off the face of the map.
That place is a hell hole that just drags the rest of us down..
Anyways, like mentioned above, NY City is the only place in NY where airguns are prohibited..
Lame..
Anyways, for the rest, we have absolutely no issue surrounding airguns.
I've lived in Central NY almost all of my life - now in Upstate NY,
and I've been airgunning for for 25+ years now..
Buying / Selling / Shooting [Legally]
When it comes to Hunting w/ Air in NY Stage, there are some restrictions..
It amazing me how well they hide this sort of information.. *Face Palm*
I only target shoot, so I don't really worry about it, but...
Only certain small game can be hunted with air, and, only certain calibers can be used..
At my sportsman's club - during the Hunter's Safety Course, I inquired about it..
An instructor told me that Air rifles could be used, but, nothing under a .22 cal.
So if Big-Bores are a no no, that'd mean .22 and .25 cal are just fine.. For small game..
Amazing - He wasn't even 100% sure about the 'legalities' of any of it either..
There's been talk of Big Game hunting w/ Big-Bore Air rifles for some time, but again..
The links are either outdated, or, they disappeared.. I just looked at a good source,
and the page was taken down.. Odd..

I recommend everyone inundate NY state D.E.C. departments with e-mails and phone calls
until' they make up their minds and put some useful information for us up on the web.
This state gets more and more annoying with every passing day..

Small game and fur bearers can be hunted with any airgun .177 and larger with 600 fps or faster. I have never read anything different than that. So you could hunt squirrels with a 45 cal Texan as long as it goes 600 fps. Same as Fox, raccoons and coyotes.

I haven't heard anything I think when it does happen it should also be allowed in the shotgun only counties in the state

The shotgun guys in Suffolk County have not shown much if any interest in them. Land owners with decades of taking problematic deer don't need new tricks.

Where in CNY I’m there too and very new to airguns I have a Seneca Aspen .25 and looking at getting either the Maverick in .30 or Impact in .35 unless I can get .35 in the maverick . I would love to meet some locals with common interest .
