Benjamin 392

I asked a question a while back about a new 392 and was told the quality has really dropped on the new ones. How old do they need to be to get a good one? I found one on CL the guy says is a couple years old and I am not sure if that is old enough?

I don't know the answer, but will be watching this thread closely. I've got a newer (1 year old) 397, and am disappointed in how it shoots. Doesn't group well at all. Tried re crowning (which usually helps a lot), cleaning, etc...no love. Maybe I'll start looking for an older model too, once I know how old to go.

I have a brand new 392 and am just getting ready to post about it. Have had numerous 397, 392, and blue streaks, and this one shoots as good as any of them. The quality is not that of the older models, but much better than I expected.

That sounds good he only wants $100 for it so I think I will pick it up and see how it shoots. I like to tinker with things any way..

Just an FYI, I got a new 392 off amazon for $105. The price was $130 something but after going to checkout had a $20 discount. I also had some amazon discount that made it cheaper.

This one has a case and some pellets he says it looks like new. I will check it out I have cash rat holed the wife doesn't know about using a CC she finds out. I have so many guns she never knows when a new one shows up.

I went and looked at it it was made 3/07 and was not pristine like he said so I passed on it. If it had been an older one with all metal parts I would have bought it in a second but I did not feel it was worth $100 and I did not like it that much the finish on the metal was not great I figure if I settle for a newer one I will just buy a new one. I am going to put a post in the classifieds.

If any bodies looking for older 397 or 392 let me know I got a guy selling his is collection kinda pricey though
