at44-10 o-ring problems

Hi guys... so this is really ^*%$#@ me off. 
I can't seam to put my barrel in place without tearing up the breach side barrel o-ring. I have used 8mm x 1.5mm replacement o-rings, I lube the rings with silicone grease and slide it in as gently as possible... only to find it still leaks and once pulled apart to inspect again, the o-ring has chunks out of it.
Where am I going wrong?

Stuck you're finger in the breach seat to feel for burr? If you can take pictures it might help us help you. You also might see something you cant gander with your eye ball.

Chunks missing out of the oring mean a burr as keyman stated. More than likely it is.so small you cant see it. If you cant feel it (or your finger cant get in there) try using a q.tip. just lightly swirl it around and see if it catches on anything. I believe the housing is brass so if there is a burr it should be a pretty easy clean up.

Did you take the barrel retaining set screws all of the way out? Could one of the screws be protruding into the breech block just a little and nicking the o-ring when you reinsert the barrel?

I removed the set crews completely... and have taken to the action with sand paper to try and remove anything that may be there... I'll get some more o-rings tomorrow and try again... thanks for the help

So I still have no idea what the hell was happening but the new o-rings are in and it has no air leaks...

Glad to hear its working again. More than likely just a small burr that you knocked lose. I tore up a set of fill probe rings on the tinest little burr on the protective cover. sharp metal and rubber just dont mix
