ARGUS 60 Slug Testing

OK, today i tested 23GR .218 at 40meter and result was not good ~ about 10cm groups. reg at 115 bar and max hammer spring. about 60 joules. i decreased the speed but still result was not ok.

but it is JSB Knockout .216 tests with 275 m/s speed. groups are very good but i had one flyers in 5 shot groups.

what you think? any idea?

The barrel does not really like it.

Slug your barrel. Order slugs .0001 under to no more than .0003" over choke grove dia.

I bought H & N 217 21gn slugs

They work great in my Argus 60 with a velocity from 840 to 905 fps

Group size was about 6mm at 25 yards will test at longer range soon

The target was shot with Javelin slugs at 25yards

The FX Hybrids were not quite as accurate

I bought H & N 217 21gn slugs

They work great in my Argus 60 with a velocity from 840 to 905 fps

Group size was about 6mm at 25 yards will test at longer range soon

The target was shot with Javelin slugs at 25yards

The FX Hybrids were not quite as accurate

very nice groups,

i also tested some 17 grains but groups about 2cm in 30 meter. my reg pressure is 115 bar.

i tested them from 290-260 m/s.

what is your reg pressure? thanks

When you ask about reg pressure you are going over my head, the only screw I adjust is the hammer spring on the Argus.

I wound it up until it pushed an 18gn pellet to about 900 fps which gave the best accuracy with the following pellets.

H&N 21gn, these are useless in my gun

Fx Hybrid Slugs, not great but will be ok for pest control, will not win the gold medal in competition!

My quest for ultimate accuracy will continue.

I also own a Steyr LG110 in 177 with JSB 8.44 pellet shoots a 5mm group at 25 yards

i know that argus with 150 bar reg max hammer setting can give me 325 m/s 18gr. also with 115 bar i can give 325 m/s!

it is nice hammer spring, but what is reg job in argus60 ️?

your Javelin slug is .218 or 0.217?

I found the 217 best in my barrel

this is h&n 23gr 284-280 m/s groups at 50m. about 1.2 cm groups

also it was winday day.

and i recommend everyone clean h&n slug 3-4 times! it is very dirty slugs.

also clean barrel before testing.



i checked 21gr h&n slug and they are not good for my argus 60.
