I used to hunt them down and shoot them with my brothers Daisy 880. Talk about a challenge.

Cicadas hasn't shown up yet in North Alabama but "green cow turd fly" season just opened due to the nice weather. Paper plate with honey or jelly (or in my case, fresh cow dung) smeared on it. Hang on barbed wire fence at 20 yards and let the fun begin. A direct hit makes a nice little faint red blood ring around the pellet hole. Its almost magical. Its a target rich environment at my farm these days! Sometimes you get a bonus Horse fly to disassemble.

Here in Washington State we get these “cabbage moths”. I shot two of the white ones over the weekend. At about 16 yards using my Benjamin Marauder Pistol. You got to wait for them to land which sometimes they don’t. Then sometimes they land and you can’t see them to shoot

They are easy to hear, but, not so easy to see when they are up in the trees. I'd love to shoot them.
I also had a stink-bug problem a few years ago. I found that I can blast them with two pumps of an empty (no pellets loaded) Crosman 1400. It disintegrates them from a couple of inches.

Dang. Yeah I definitely shoot bugs as a grown man. Not ashamed of that for a second because I definitely am a 5 year old when I have a gun in my hand.

I’ve almost picked up a throw away 760 pump master just for my yard gun and leave it outside 24/7. If I didn’t have kids I’d totally go for that.

Definantly! Kids and I enjoy popping them with Daisy Red Ryder. They're hard to get your eye on though! I understand a raptor called Mississippi kite preys on them and they are actually agile enough raptors to catch them. I've never seen them catch one but have seen them eating one.
