Might be the same weird thread on the new version of the Wildcat too. I got the Sumo for my Wildcat and man, I don't think it gets any more backyard friendly. All I can hear is the hammer smack and the target impact.
Ok so comments on the new Crown: I mentioned that I cleaned it first in another thread. And as usual it took a few shots to settle in. Also, the reg has to break in a bit. But as I shoot it more, the groups are tightening up. Maybe a little of the gun, maybe a little of me getting used to the gun.
I found that adjusting the hammer down from max is very nice for the back yard if you need it. Just going from MAX down to 5 makes a huge difference in the sound, but only decreases the fps from 912 avg to 899 avg. I'll send more data when I have it. But if you know what I'm talking about when I say the "tune is balanced", the Crown sounds more balanced at 5 than on MAX. Set on MAX, I hear a lot of air going out behind the pellet. Sort of a whoosh. Like a long cough sound. But on 5 I get a nice "putt", a very short cough, and no wasted air. I want to shoot an entire string on 5 and see what the data says. I bet I get several more shots per fill and I only sacrifice a few fps. BUT, I don't intend on tuning a lot for a while. I want to give things a chance to break in, including ME to the gun
Also found that at the current settings (MAX), it shoots the 34's at low 800's. But it is very accurate. So far, very nice gun and loads of fun. I think my only complaint would be a very minor one. I had the Atlas BT10 rail installed and I am not exactly thrilled with the way it looks. But that is something no one else would notice.
Over all, very happy with this new girl. I'll pass along more data as I collect it for those who are interested.
