AEA Zeus carbine.....ready to rock! —Updated with a harvest😁

I’ve had her now for about 3 weeks. I decided to keep it light and simple, I went with a sig sauer whiskey3 2x7x32. I just got some 440, 460 and 530 grain pills from Mr. Hollowpoint and plan on getting out with in the next 2 weeks or so. I have to admit the 16 inch barrel looks mean and all business. It’s very pointable at this length with the gun being 36 inches total length and I believe AEA say it’s good for 850fpe wth a 500gr slug. Should more than enough to put the smack down on a deer within 70 yards. Stay tuned.

By any chance any one have any info on any molds yet. This could get expensive. Lol

Congrats!

Have you shot it yet? If so which of the weights shot best?

I hope to get out in the next couple of days and get it on paper. I'll post when I find out which ones shoot better.

I have the 32 in. version and tried 630g, 760g, and 1082g from MrHollowPoint and 925g from Pro Slugs (sample with gun). For my needs the 630g seemed best compromise of accuracy, flatter trajectory, and energy. I am anxious to hear how you like the short barrel.

Ok I apologize for the long delay, work and getting to the range made things difficult. Settled with Mr Hollowpoints 530. I can tell you the first shot was unlike any big bore I’ve shot before even on helium. How they’re able to achieve what other haven’t done on air is amazing. I haven’t choreographed yet but I don’t see a need. At 50 yards it was a cloverleaf with some through the same hole. I’m confident to take a shot 75yrd with no issues. I have a couple of other lighter one’s to test later. I decided to give ol Zeus a try opening day. I had a doe come in at about 35-38 yards, I patiently waited for good vital shot. The shot I took was slightly quartering away, I squeezed the trigger and this doe dropped like a bolt from Zeus himself. Very reminiscent of my 450 bushmaster. Sorry I didn’t take more detailed pick of slug entry but it passed right behind the shoulder and destroyed the lungs no tracking required. The entry hole was massive and I did not see a exit. I had no luck finding the slug this time around. This 16inch version is very handy in the blind and balances good for off hand shooting. I can imagine how the long one must weigh a ton in comparison.
