,25 or 30 caliber,,

so, is it one or the other ,,the two guns i ordered are 30 cal, a raw hm1000x lrt stock and a impact i figure bigger is better,one for long range,one for varmenting, i read t3p ranch has nine 25 calibers, whats the better choice and why,,,,i know thereslots of different calibers, theese seem to be the popular ones.

Mine are .25 for better wind resistance, better downrange energy and I grew up using my Granddads .257 Roberts so I am partial to the caliber. I am also heavily invested in lead casting molds for .25, .257, .357 and .457. (I lost all my Granddads molds in a fire that took all the custom guns he had built as well). My guns are about maximum power because I hunt on my 500 rural acres (Hogs to rats, alright the rats don't need much power but I love to see them explode after the amount of equipment damage they cause me).

I started with an AirForce Condor and with a 50 grain projectile it would do 100 ft/lb which is more than 2X my Wildcat and is 2X my Cricket, Marauder and Armada. It is 3X my Compatto's power output. I have a .257 Condor now that will do about 180 ft/lb which is equivalent to my Bulldog .357 with 95 grain swaged bullets. The .257 is the long range gun.

Unless I am mistaken, there are more pellet choices in .25 than .30 caliber. A .25, if all other aspects are equal, will use less air and have a higher shot count. If the higher energy of the .30 is not essential for one or both of your guns then those characteristics might contribute to your decision.

And where you shoot and hunt makes a difference too (urban? exurban?). Although not always the case, most .30s make more noise, and develop a lot more muzzle energy than a .25. That fact is why I don't own one.

iride, its never too late ,good info is precious ,my friend ,,learning new things ,either at work or my new favorite hobby is interesting to me ..ya the guns i chose are exspensive ,5 months of overtime for the guns only ,still need aprox $1800 for 2 scopes ,2 bipods and 2 sets of rings ,, as soon as the heat gets up here in boston ,im sure the ot will pick up . sorry my punctuations way lacking,,,pat ps any info on a good safe ,presently locked away in a closetthe wife wants the guns more secure spot ,,

Canon and Liberty are some good safes. Tractor Supply usually has some very good deals on Large Safes.

The loss was far greater than any material goods. My Grandmother was in the house when it exploded. That was a long time ago now. I'll see her again! Getting closer every day!

I just picked up a .22 Condor SS. It's currently set at 974 FPS with 18.1 JSB 38 FPE.

Is this a good spot for it? Any 22 slugs to try?

Out of the two, I'd pick the .25cal. But since you have the .30 on the way, just get one of both to have more situations covered. It's not a pcp, but the newest member of my collection, my Crosman/Benjamin Trail NP XL725 .25cal hits surprisingly hard. Kicks hard, a bit more than a .22 mini mag or other. Here's some numbers I got with my Calwell chronograph during a video shoot the other day;

​The Caldwell app messed up on some of the readouts for some weird reason? Gave numbers from 10,000 to 13,000, then back to normal? Anyway, this is a gas ram, but I just thought I'd show what ranges the various popular pellets gave me.
