2023 Ohio Airgun Field Target and Benchrest Schedule

The 2023 Ohio Airgun Field Target and Benchrest schedule has been released! There is a Field Target match every Sunday from the middle of April until the end of October (with a single exception for the weekend we observe the July 4th holiday). Additionally, there is either a National 50 or 100-Yard Benchrest match on more than half of the weekends on Saturdays. That is a total of 27 Field Target and 15 Benchrest matches in 28 weeks. It should be a great year in Ohio.

There’s another reason to be excited for Field Target in Ohio. Four Ohio Airgun clubs will be part of the 2023 Buckeye Field Target Series. The Buckeye Series is sponsored by two of the largest, most respected Airgun retailers in the state of Ohio (and the nation), Baker Airguns and Pyramyd Air. There will be more than $2,000 dollars in store credit spread among the top finishers from every AAFTA class, and there will be plaques awarded at the end of the season too. To qualify you must shoot at least one match in the same class at each of the four Ohio clubs. If you shoot more than one match at a club, your highest score at that club will be included in the total. Shooters can win in two different classes (one PCP and one Piston class). The total number of qualifying shooters in each class determines the number of places to be awarded (up to 5). It takes 1 qualified shooter to award first place, 3 to award 2 places, 5 to award 3 places, 7 to award 4 places and 9 to award 5 places. We had over 80 unique shooters that participated in Buckeye Series events in 2022 and more than 30 that qualified. Let’s see if we can beak those numbers in 2023.

Each club has their own Facebook group page, and you can find a variety of Airgun and Club information on all of them. We encourage you to join and participate in the flow of information whether you’re from Ohio or not.

What happened to Wyandot?
Hope that Roger and the gang are still OK.
Roger is just fine. He created his own schedule that cherry picked the best dates and overwhelmingly favored Wyandot and basically told the rest of us to work our matches in around his dates. The other 4 clubs (united) told him that he could work with us to create a schedule fair to all clubs and be part of the Buckeye Series or stick with his schedule and be excluded. He chose to go it alone.
