0db Moderator

Tried the 110 and the 160 recently for the first time, on a .22 BRK, and they are impressive. The 110 does an amazing job for its size and barely gives up anything to the bigger 160. In my opinion the size difference beats out the small difference in noise reduction, which for the 160 is just noticably quieter. For a .30, I am sure you did right going for the 160, enjoy!

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, hassle free. I've bought and tested more moderators than I would care to admit. Big name production and some of the lesser known "niche" offerings that tout a lot of science in their designs. Received a 0db 110c free with a Daystate I had purchased last year. It takes the cake across the board in both sound reduction (relative to size) and shot consistency. Across all airguns I've put it on. It noticeably outperforms mods that are 25-30% larger in volume when it comes to sound reduction. Not sure what their secret sauce is, but I dig it. My entire fleet of daily drivers is now topped with a 0db.

Well, after all the glowing recommendations I ordered a 0db-110 from AOA this week (they were on sale for $129) and it arrived yesterday.
I thought that being a smaller size it might do well on either of my pistols. Not so much.

Took the TKO mod off and installed the 0db-110 on my Crosman 1720T sub 12 fpe FT pistol. Nope. 5 shots with each. 0db Way louder. Back on with the TKO.

Well, surely my Crosman 1701P at a whopping 4-5 fpe won't overpower this thing?
Took the TKO mod off of it also and installed the 0db-110. 5 shots with each mod. Are you kidding me? Nope. Back on with the TKO.

Just for fun, let's try this on the MAC1, sub 20 fpe FT rifle since we're striking out with the pistols.
Shot 5 shots with the MAC1's Neal Clague moderator, then installed the 0db 110 (which in the 110's defense, is quite a bit smaller). Didn't expect much here.
5 more shots with the 110. Oh, hell no. Back on with Neal's moderator.

Back in the box with the 0db-110.
I guess I probably should have ordered the (on sale $199) 0db-160 moderator which from the pictures appears to be quite a bit larger and maybe I'd have had better results?

I'm glad a lot of you are having success with this one, but it's just not working for me and my ears. Sound is subjective to each of us I understand that.
Your ears mileage may vary...........

I agree, the 0DB 110 is just not very effective as a standalone moderator. Where I've find it works best is as an add-on to a shroud, preferably a shroud that has some baffles or an internal air stripper of some sort.

I've stuck my 110 on the end of a Veteran shroud, the end of a Red Wolf shroud, and the end of a Ghost shroud and been pleased with the overall report from a relatively high powered airgun, but again, as a standalone moderator, it's typically not enough.
