They are eating over 800 trees and my property has over a mile of boundry distance, so fence is out...

I am looking to scare some deer off my land. What type of gun would be best for this.... Would Game Mach 1 be good, or is there a more powerful one needed? Should I get .22 or .177? I want to make sure they don't come back Any advice would be appreciated.
