Received a new case of die "B" CPLs a few days ago and they're good.

Ordering boxed CPLs in the past has been rather "interesting" because I received a case of CPLs about 5 years ago that were covered with so much "parting compound" (looked like graphite) that my fingers were grey after each shooting session. That case was then thoroughly washed, dried and then...

Group size determined by several "close pellets" in a PATTERN of fliers??

LOL....I read of folks doing this but didn't really believe it! I watched two different YouTube airgun "reviews" where the shooter actually called a 10 shot group size based on a few of the pellets grouping tightly "INSIDE the pattern". Calling a group size using this method took what looked...

Ordered and received a Discovery scope from china. LOL...what a trip!

I watched Joe's YouTube review of a "new to me" Chinese discovery scope and Since I really wasn't interested in a 4.5-18 first focal plane scope, don't need a "camera bracket", and didn't like the busy reticle in the video I did some "Youtube research" for other Discovery offerings. I found...

All you FT gurus, how do you set up a "range tape" when it's windy all the time?

I'm registered fo the CCGC field target match this Saturday and I'm having issues with setting up my "holdover tape" due to "windy every day"! If onlt the windage was affected by the wind there would be no issue because I cas set up my "left/right" upstairs at 18 yards. When ever when I get out...

Weighing, sorting and lubing Crosman Premier lights..............

Replies to a previous pellet lubing thread prompted me to wash & weigh and lube my remaining 4 boxes of 1250 count, Die lot “B”, Date code Feb3 2014, 7.9 grain Crosman Premiers, and also try your “Pledge pellet lube process”. Here is the result after sorting 3 full boxes and a partial box………...

There has been some discussion concerning Delrin or metal spring guides.

I personally always use Delrin but there was some concern posted about the Delrin getting "rubbery" with high temps and brittle with low temps. I personally never had a Delrin failure but I thought I'd check out the service temp anyway and here is a screen shot from McMaster Carr...

Home made scope shade from PVC plumbing parts for my 5-15x50 Hawke Panorama.

I was looking at a Hawke sunshade for my scope but it was listed as 4" long so I bought one of those short honeycomb filters. I wasn't especially pleased with the slight drop in illumination and resolution so the decision was to cobble together a 3" long shade and here is the result. Painted...

HW allowed Specialty Shooting Sports to sell remaining stock to the USA

https://www.specialtyshootingsportsoutdoors.com/ This Canadian retailer was my favorite HW parts supplier till HW blocked their sales to the USA a while back. Here is a cut-n-past from another site concerning SSSO...... "Hi, we have new Firearms marking laws coming in ,the european standards,so...

Ordered a new Hawke scope and a set of Warne rings.

A while back I bought a 4-12x50 Hawke Airmax AO for use with my HW95 and it actually is a pretty good scope judging by the optics however I had a couple issues that I didn't like. The first issue was the extremely fine lines of the AMX reticle which do get lost on dark targets in the shade. The...

I'm liking my new 4-12x50 Hawke Airmax, so far!

For a couple years now I've been using a (to me) very large and heavy 30mm tube 3-12x44 Optisan Viper "bolted to" either my HW95 and Beeman R9. I do have to admit that my Viper has been an excellent scope for hunter class field target with great crispness, snapped in and out of focus quickly...
