BTW, The white teflon is used as a marker to show how far the shroud extends beyond the end of the barrel and air stripper.

Just pics and spec of new shroud. Of course it no longers fits in case. Quieter than fx mod and stock shroud.

I was surprised too when I took my shroud off of my MKII. Shroud is basically cosmetic. I went in another direction and got a custom shroud with proper air stripper. Very much pleased now.

You can take the caps off. I just screwed mine hand tight and grabbed the middle (with the words) and kept turning till it lined up. Much, much harder to explain than to do. 

Literally got one coming in the mail tomorrow, oh well.
