Just got back with the Gamo Whisper Silent Cat. Its a very nice looking gun. Im glad i cleaned the barrel first like many have suggested, it needed it. Ill put some rounds thru it tomorrow and see how it does.

Ill pick up a chrono at walmart too if they have one to test it out. But at 50ft, the pellet will pretty much bounce off the ply wood.

Local walmart has the Gamo Whisper Silent Cat on sale for 120. Ill pick one up tonight and slap my scope on it tomorrow and see how it does dropping Chipmunks and Squirels.

Out of curiosity, are the .177 typically more accurate than the .22?

Its not 30yrds, its 30ft (10yrds). The pellets just get stuck in the ply wood. Is that powerful enough to take out a chipmunk or squirrel? My father in law (who i got the gun from) assures me he took out plenty of "critters" with it when he bought it (10+ years ago).

Awesome info guys thanks. The Gamo Spectra I have is a .177, I just cant imagine im missing a live target. Especially when i can group 10 shots in a milk cap at the same distance. Is it possible the gun just doesnt have the power to penetrate? I ask because at 30ft my pellets get stuck in 1/4in...
