Sounds like you are getting somewhere. A little tweaking and hopefully your search will be over for a good performing slug.

Are you talking about the FX Hybrid 44.5 gr. slugs? If so my strelok says they have a BC of .102.

I was expecting the post to be about performance when I read the title. I have two GRS stocks and they didnt smell weird. Hopefully the smell goes away as it gets aired out.

I tried javelins in .22 and .25 both didnt perform. I found H&N in .22 and .25 to be the best in my three FX rifles. Zan, JSB and NSA slugs all under performed in my rifles.

My crown shoots both weights accurately so I use the 50 gr. Been smacking starlings at 85 - 88 yds easy.

My guess would be the check valve in the rifles fill port is stuck open. If its bleeding slow like @Asher mentions that could cause it as well.

I have the reg set at 150 bar. I cant remember what the macro and micro are set at. I am at work and didnt bring it with me today so I can check when I get home if you want that info. With the reg set at 150 bar I hit the plateau at 1045 fps.

You cant fill a tank to a higher pressure than the tank being used to fill it. If the fill tank has 3,000 psi in it you are only going to get 3,000 psi max into the tank being filled.

Unless you are going to use really heavy slugs in .25 and have a barrel twist that stabilizes them you are not getting much advantage with a .25 over a .22. The only advantage is .030 increased OD and thats not much of a difference. If both calibers are shooting 40 gr. or under you can match...

Two nights ago we had nice bright northern lights here in western MT.

There are some that come with 6 rings per the FX manual. If you had the 6 ring model then opening to show 6 rings is fully open. If you have the 4 ring model then you open to the 4th ring then another 1.5 turns and that is fully open.

Dont forget to add a rod and a stop on the rod for the lead so it doesnt just run down the bore. Essentially you are making a slug around a rod. You push the slug partially out of the barrel so its exposed to add lapping compound. The slug is pushed down the barrel lapping it.
