help with a backpack type pcp

Not as quiet as I would like for shooting in my suburban backyard, but not too bad considering how short and powerful it is. It certainly won’t matter when I’m out in the woods. It definitely doesn’t require hearing protection, but I would add a moderator if I were going to shoot it often in the...

help with a backpack type pcp

I just received an aea hp ss .25 and it seems to be an ideal backpack gun. I have the folding stock and it measures 18” when folded.

    Old man wants a plinker

I also would recommend HW30. It's my go to rifle for the yard, where my max distance is 25yd. Dime sized groups at 20 yds regularly (but not always) when rested correctly. I had trouble seeing with the sights it comes with and put an old Bug Buster scope on it. I like the combo very much.

    Hunting in California

Wild turkeys taste great! I will gladly come down to Sonoma (I live just East of Sacramento) and rid them of my limit of turkeys from their property each season. I'm sure they would prefer to keep the turkeys out of their wineries.

What is an alternative to the Daisy 747?

Forgot to mention, though, that the HW40 requires more force to pump...should probably try one first.

What is an alternative to the Daisy 747?

You could try a HW40 which would be in the same league as the Daisy Avanti 747 (I own both). Neither one has good grips, but you can probably replace the grips on the Daisy, but not really an option with the Hw40. I enjoy shooting the HW40 more because I don't like the plastic bolt on the Daisy...

    Range Finder recommendatation

Whichever rangefinder you choose, I recommend one with red LED display. When target shooting, the LCD (black letters) show up fine, but when in dim forest light against a mixed background, I can't see them. The red LED displays can be read against just about any background.

Dry Firing (air, but no pellet) Single Stroke Pneumatic.

Your Hw 75 can be used for dry fire practice by opening the carriage only part way, before it lets air in the cylinder (happens at less than 90 degrees open). You should hear the trigger engage, then just close it, take the safety off and pull the trigger.

    Pacific Airgun Expo

I'll definitely be there if I'm not out of town. I should bring a couple of rifles to sell as I don't use them any more.

Hard Gun Case for Air Wolf with Hawke 8-32x54 and Parallax Wheel?

My favorite cases are the Boyt hard cases. I really like the latches on them. I have 3 different sizes and the 2 larger ones are pretty deep. I think they run $130 - $250 depending on size.

Finally got me a WAR Flex!

Congrats and welcome to the small group of WAR owners. I hope you enjoy your Flex as much as I enjoy my Warp (.25 & .30). It is awesome to be able to tune to any pellet quickly. I love how easy it is to customize and have changed my stock to a Magpul Gen 3 precision stock. If I get a Flex, I...

What is your favorite Binocular ?

I use a pair of Leupold BX-4 Pro Guide HD 8x42. Mostly used for small game and turkey hunting where I am either glassing the transition from brush/forest to meadow, or glassing into lower density brush/forest areas. When in the forest, I would prefer less power, but haven't bothered to spend the...

Side lever cocking vs. bolt action cocking

I have 3 bolt action and 2 side lever rifles and have no preference for bench rest or hunting. If you are going to compete in speed silhouette at extreme benchrest, then you will definitely want side lever action, but otherwise, I don't think it matters.

New "Uncut" video of the RMAC by AEAC!!!

I really like the more candid video. Looks like it's worth a trip next year to at least dilute the Impact content (although, who knows, I may be a convert by then).

    Next airgun...hmmmm... gladius long?

I have a Gladius .22 Long and have had no problems with it. I don't shoot it much as I prefer lighter rifles, but it is a nice gun. I would agree that the Brocock Bantam is a nicer rifle, but the Gladius is cool and the street price might be lower than the Bantam, or you might pick one up used...

Range Finders for PCP Rifles? any suggestions?

There are 2 things I look for: 1. Rangefinder adjusts the distance for incline/decline. 2. I can actually read the range against the background. I like rangefinders with red led displays as I can see them better against the background. I have a Leopold Rx-1200i

Thinking of future 30 cal addiction

Yes, WAR is Jim. The web site does not allow you to specify what options you want, and I found it best to just email him. I was able to specify exactly the options I wanted and he sent me a build sheet with prices for the options I had specified. I then asked him to send me a paypal invoice. If...

there is a review on hard air magazine, and they didn't mention anything about a mic, and they were shooting at 55 yds. https://hardairmagazine.com/reviews/using-labradar-record-airgun-pellet-velocities/
