An interesting observation: Royale 500 .25 vs Wildcat .25

My Royale .25 and Wildcat .25 both shoot the JSB King 25gr @ 910-920fps (46.5 ft/lbs energy). But, the Royale shoots the JSB King Heavy @ 800fps (48.3 ft/lbs), and the Wildcat shoots it at 830fps (52 ft/lbs). Unexpected and interesting.

Features on the Impact make accuracy testing move much faster.

Here's my process: Chronograph all calibers (if you have more than one) and all settings on the power wheel. Write down this data. Go to the range and try all settings. BAM! What used to require taking a chronograph to the range, and fiddling with allen screws (not to mention removing...

Own a Chronograph? Have a 'chrony station' in your basement? You NEED this! :)

After years of accidentally leaving my chronograph on, and [consequently] having to buy 9v batteries like chewing gum, I finally decided to improve my life with a 10 second Google search. I found this; an AC Adapter to replace DC 9V batteries. Many of you may already have such a thing, or have...

FX No Limit vs Sportsmatch (ATP61) adjustable scope mounts

I have used both mounts extensively on various PCP air rifles for over a year. Both hold zero as well as their non-adjustable counterparts, even when I carried the guns by the scope (which I often do, and do not wish to debate right now :) ). Both are made with very good materials (screws that...

11mm to Picatinny Rail Adapter - Has anyone used these? (photo)

They seem like a nice, clean way to put picatinny mounts on a dove tail rail. But, the price spooks me a bit. Am I reading too much into what I "think" a good piece of gear should cost? http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/UTG_Weaver_to_11mm_or_3_8_Dovetail_Adapter_2pcs/4148

Official "My WildCat Arrived!!!" Thread. :)

UPS is busy dropping them off all over the U.S. I know that several members on this forum will be receiving theirs very soon. So, I thought we could keep the forum tidy, and share all of our photos and first impressions in one topic. As we start to dig deeper into the gun(s), individual...

    Huma Air Regulators

I have been meaning to post this for a while. I was on the fence whether to post it in "Reviews" or in "General Airgunning." I chose GA because I don't think that I have enough experience or qualifications to post an official review. That said, I have seen these things in action, and boy do...

FX Impact Specs: Questions and Answers

The quest for this information was catalyzed by the conversation in this thread. Some questions I took directly from the conversation. Some were my own. Q: Will the Impact ship with a case? A: Yes - all models ship with a hard case? Q: Is the case the same for all models? A: No - the...

The Cometa Bullpup you never saw.

This was at the Cometa stand at IWA this past March. The pistol grip looks a little suspect to me. And, I am not 100% sure, but I think I see an FX magazine. :) Not trying to be catty. Just thought we have had a lot of serious discussions lately, and the mood could use a little lightening...

FX Impact and WildCat bipod mounting [PHOTOS]

The bulk of my inbox for the past two weeks has been questions re: which bipods I plan to use on my Wildcat and Impact (both on order), as well as how I intend to mount them. For the Wildcat I am using a swivel stud + Harris Bipod (6-9"), The swivel stud will likely be a 3/4", along with a...

Shooting Stand - I have always wanted one of these.

I have been eyeing these for over a year. Finally broke down. The idea of swinging side to side blasting vermin is too enticing. :) I'll offer an official review once the summer is over. It is called the Caldwell Stable Table. Every time I saw it in a sporting goods store, it was $250...

Anyone here from AZ, NM, or TX. AoA is coming to you!

I just saw this in Industry Announcements. Seems they were listening when folks said, "How on earth can you expect me to shell out $1000 for a gun that I have never even held?" It looks to be a modest maiden voyage around the southwest US. If this project succeeds, perhaps they will buy more...

Scope Rings for Springers (re: TimmyMac's comments)

I was going to reply to Tim Mac's comment in the FX rings thread. But, then decided to start a new conversation because I think the info he dropped should have it's own conversation. Tim said: "I would never use the FX rings on a Spring gun. The way they rotate around a mounting point would...

A while back there was a shortage of JSB .25's. My Confession:

The guilt has been eating me alive. It was all my fault!!! Please find it in your heart to forgive me. :)

Daystate Wolverine B .22 (test review)

Here's something you weren't expecting when you visited my blog - an UPDATE! Hallelujah! Yeah, sorry for that. If you lived in Wisconsin, you would agree with me that summer time is NO time to be sitting inside updating websites and editing video. But, today is the first rainy day in weeks...
