    N/A Avenge-X mods?

It seems the new Avenge-X is already getting a lot of hype and attention. And I can't argue that it seems to be justified. They even made it with a bolt that can switch to the left side! (I like to think that was just for me. :D ) But of course every new gun that comes out like this is...

Proposed IL house bill is a direct threat to airgunners

I have just become aware of a bill HB2925 filed in the IL house by Representative Tipsword. In IL, an FOID card is required for all airguns over .18 caliber. Rep Tipsword's bill would remove the "over .18" exception so all airguns would require an FOID card. There are a million reasons why...

    Norma pellets

I didn't want to post anything in the recent AoA thread as it may have looked like I was trying to disparage or displace their business efforts. In truth, the best way to get great deals on Norma pellets is to sign up for their email at normashooting.com About two months ago I bought about...

Best slug for a .25 Sumatra???

I need the experienced voices of you .25 Sumatra shooters! Can you recommend a most accurate slug (specific weight, diameter and manufacturer information preferred) for a Piatt tuned .25 Sumatra? I haven't messed with slugs up to now, and even now I expect it will just be an occasional...

    SOLD Daystate Air Ranger .25

I'm selling my safe queen Daystate Air Ranger .25, I love the gun but it's too pretty to take into the woods (Yeah, I'm one of those guys), and I'm not a benchrest shooter, so it's time to move it on. The rifle is in pristine condition, I will provide a link below to high resolution photos...

    Support the Illinois Airgun Bill!

If you live in Illinois, you are familiar with the restriction that airguns over .18 are considered firearms. This presents several legal conundrums, and it also means airgun purchases from out of state must be conducted through an FFL. As a result of these complexities, many airgun retailers...

How did you lower the power on your Air Ranger?

I have a .25/50fpe Air Ranger, and I wanted to improve shot count and drop the power to meet my needs a little better. So I adjusted the hammer striker and effectively lowered the peak power of the gun to produce ~35 shots 865-895-865, which it does between 2700-1900psi. That is with JSB...

    Illinois Airgun hunters rejoice!

First the link: http://www.ilga.gov/commission/jcar/admincode/017/017006900000300R.html All of these public sites followed by a 1 allow hunting with an airgun up to .25 (For small game, deer hunting by airgun is not yet legal in Illinois so far as I can tell) or .22 firearm The best part? All...

Does the Daystate Harrier use the Harper valve and/or slingshot hammer?

And if it doesn't, can it be retrofitted? And if I can retrofit, where would I get the parts? (AoA or Airgunspares?) My valve gave up suddenly the other day, and if it has to be serviced this seems to be the appropriate time to pursue these questions.

Feedback Joe Hoover aka Guthook is the best!

I did a rifle trade with Joe, the ultimate statement of trust for two guys who don't know each other. Joe communicated well, and the rifle and everything Joe did was *exactly* what he said. Truly a great guy! If you make any kind of deal with Joe, you can do so in complete confidence. Thanks Joe!

Self healing targets and big bores

Dumb question of the day... I've read enough to know that the rubber "self healing" targets commonly found in stores now are a bad idea for small bore airguns, unless you like targets that shoot back. But what about big bores like the Texan or DAQ .45? It seems like these guns would have...

Why do all the targets have body shots?

I keep wondering...why does just about every paper animal target and metal field target all emphasize body shots, when most airgun hunters focus on head shots? It seems that would build the wrong mental pattern for successful hunting. Are there any "head shot" field targets?
