    Air Arms TX200 MkIII

TX200 MkIII is not finicky about pellets. Both the .22 and .177 slightly prefer medium to slightly heavy pellets. My best are 10.4 gr JSB, my worst shooting pellets by far were super jumbo heavy. The lightest lead pellets I could find shot surprisingly well, and the light alloy pellets even shot...

    Air Arms TX200 MkIII

I assure you, that gun is not finicky about hold. If you can hold it still, it will shoot straight. I can't hold mine still, it's just too heavy for me to shoot with 1 breath hold. I suppose I could develop the discipline to hold it still, but I enjoy shooting it from a custom rest that's solid...

    Air Arms TX200 MkIII

MichaelinAZ, it's a beast. Lots of steel and dense wood in that gun, and not just anyone has the muscle to shoot it. My setup weighs over 11 pounds! To complicate things, it's a little bit barrel heavy. Makes it seem about a pound heavier. I gave up on it as a hunting gun within 2 hours of...

Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

No big thing, it's just a flesh wound. Being adventurous, I would have tried to grind down the new secondary piston rod, if it were no more than .003-.004. The dipper may have broken due to a defect, not the design, so it may not be a widespread problem... I hope. Seriously, sorry for your...

Fellow members of AGN please take a moment to consider.....

We're all under attack. AirgunWeb got banned from YouTube. These sick little beta males watch perverted stuff on YouTube all day and get the idea to shoot up a school. Then, YouTube bans guns, not even acknowledging the sick-O's they helped create. YouTube is not family or 2nd...

Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

@prfssrlee and @centercut, Things I have learned about compressors: Some inexpensive 120v compressor motors run great on 220 and visa versa. I own one, a Porter Cable shop compressor. It comes with a 120v cord, also comes with instructions to run it on 220v. The second stage of a compressor...

Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

@prfssrlee, Be careful with lube, especially in any significant amounts. I'm guessing the 2nd stage has enough pressure to diesel with some lubes. In fact, that could be why it has problems turning over. I would think minuscule amounts of the recommended grease or oil for reassembly are all...

    Closed 10 Meter 40 Shot, January 1st. High Score --- Greg5850 ------- 393

That's about what mine weighs. Even worse, it's poorly balanced, wayyy barrel heavy. I may give it a try anyway. :)

Advice on building a pellet trap

I use a standard .22 firearm trap I bought online. Glued a soft wood frame inside, use push pins to pin printed 8.5x11 targets to the wood frame. The lead dust inside my house concerned me, so I cut a 1/2" closed foam sheet to contain the dust. The trap is very noisy, even with .177, but should...

    Closed 10 Meter 40 Shot, January 1st. High Score --- Greg5850 ------- 393

Tried it, can't hold up my gun offhand. Tried on bench from 17 yards, hit 10 ring 20/20 times. I gotta get a lighter gun so I won't miss the fun.

@jt, that's more like it! Does the Foster fittings fit a wide variety of brands, or is it not quite a good fit like this one: (jump to 10:40) Thanks!

Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

@prfsrlee, I'm thinking the same thing. Keeping the intake air dry won't keep the pressure side real dry, but it should reduce the moisture some. Keeping the room air dry will also help a bit, every little bit helps. But,,, I suspect we will still have to manually bleed a few drops of water...

Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

Great solution JT. I'll bet that adapter would make my old Craftsman drill run faster than new. ;) Kidding aside, a lot of inexpensive 120v air compressor motors are intended to run on 220v. I have one myself, it has 2 big capacitors on the motor that enable it to start on 120v. Some day I will...

Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

Moe, I plan to do the same. At most I will tip the tank valve downward, and blow off all the liquid water. If the $300 gun lasts 6 years, I've got my money's worth. I'll also look into isolating my pump air intake and feed it dry air, but if it's not easy to do, I won't bother.

Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

@fpgt72, thanks for the info. If it's that fast, I will probably get the 120v version and maybe a small tank. My shop has 220-240v, with decent amperage, but my 120v circuit is only 20 amp. My larger tools sometimes trip the breaker, so I was concerned about that. I'll just have to be careful...

Did I make a big mistake? I bought a Yong Heng compressor from China!!

I'm buying one of these. A couple of questions. Does the 220v plug fit a standard laundry drier outlet, or will I have to replace the plug or outlet? Does the standard fill valve fit the Umarex Gauntlet, or will I need to buy an adapter? Unbelievable that I can get a decent PCP gun and pump for...
